Si-Gung Wilhelm Blech in Verona

On 24th, 25th and 26th of March our Sigung Wilhelm Blech was in Verona.
He came to Italy for the annual seminar, that this year was about the Mok Jan Chong.

During the three days he gave us a lot of ideas about the whole Wing Chun, and about the single movements and applications.
The atmosphere was relaxed because he put everyone at ease, also the students which saw him for the first time.
The seminar was full of contents, and all the students were very interested.
Practically everybody trained with interest until the end.

Every day before the training we could live all together a touching moment.
Sigung asked us to be a minute silence to remember and pay homage to his beloved Sifu Lok Yiu. He unfortunately passed away last month.
When it was silent, was possible to touch the deep respect that everyone has ever had, and still keeps, and will always keep up, for our Master.
And we felt very close, because we all belong to the great family of Lok Yiu Wing Chun.

On Friday evening there was the seminar for the instructors.
Sigung gave us a lot of different ideas.
He gave us some suggestions, for example about the contact.
He told us how to bring the contact in the right way and also how to keep it. He let see us some demonstrations.
He also explained us the principle of Dim Dim Cheng: it comprehends the idea of taking and keeping the contact correctly.
He shown us that we don’t have to be rigid, and that we have to put in every movement the correct strength and direction.
At the end of the seminar we were very stimulated.
Now we have to take all we received and master it, and drive it deeply into our Wing Chun.
If now we can do only 10/20 % of what Sigung explained, we must train and in the future we will do more.

On Saturday and Sunday afternoon there were the seminars for the students, about the Mok Jan Chong.
Sigung explained us that the Mok Jan Chong is not a form or a system.
It is a way of thinking. It puts together and synthesizes movements and ideas taken from Siu Lim Tau, Cham Kiu and Biu Tze.
The piece itself is maden by wood. So you can move with the whole intensity you are able to. You can train with a different strength and with different aims compared to those you use training with a partner.
Its arms are rigid. You have to do in every change the right movement, and to reach every time the correct position.
Your movements have to be correct and clear. Also their speed has to be proper.
It has no sense to train with hurried or wrong movements.
Sigung shown us the first section of the Mok Jan Chong.
Than we tried to do it in couple.
In the second part of the seminar he taught us some applications. We tried to defend from a punch attack, and also to answer back.
Then we trained the learned section in movement.

During all the days in the Kwoon there was the right atmosphere, and we trained with seriousness.
Nearly all the students were very absorbed into the training.
The arguments can not be exhausted in one day. They were very big and important.
Everyone, at every level, found out new ideas. If we continue to train, we will understand them completely. So our Wing Chun will became better.
Now we can train more correctly.
Our knowledge about Wing Chun has grown up, and all will help us to reach the right way.

On Sunday evening we went all together in pizzeria. It was a very beautiful night.
It was organized to eat and chat, and mainly to say thank you to Sigung, Adriano Tavernelli and the Sifu.
It was enriched by some Sigung explanations about the history.
It was also animated by some tales about the past.
